Celebs Do It Up Big At The 2008 BET Hip Hop AWards

The 2008 BET Hip Hop awards was held over the weekend in the ATL. This year's festivities merged the old school with the new as hip hop impresarios such as Salt N Peppa, Yoyo, Wutang clan, Nas, Ice cube and more participated, T-Pain was thrust in the spotlight as host at the last minute due to Katt Williams No Show while Lil Wayne proved to be the nevenings big winner. The show will air on Thursday.

Ozone Magazine Announces Star Studded Line Up Of Performers For The 3rd Annual Ozone Awards

OZONE Magazine today announced the presenters and performances for its 3rd annual Ozone Awards. T-Pain and Rick Ross will help headline the show’s chart-topping musical talent. Other performers will include The Game, Plies, Bun B, Lil Boosie, DJ Khaled and Trick Daddy.

Presenters for the awards include Flo Rida, Young Buck, Soulja Boy, Pitbull, Bow Wow, Trina, David Banner, Ray J, Lloyd, C-Murder, Mya, Paul Wall and Chamillionaire. They will be handing out awards in over 25 categories including “Best Rap Album”; “Breakthrough Artist”; “Best Rap Group”; Best Video”; “DJ of The Year”; and the newest “Pimp C Award (TRILLEST ARTIST).” A full list of nominees can be found by logging on to www.ozonemag.com/toa_voting.

Topping this year’s performances will be a Pimp C tribute set, orchestrated by fellow UGK member Bun B. The set includes Big Boi, Webbie & Boosie, Too Short, 8Ball & MJG, David Banner, and other special surprise guests.

The OZONE Awards is the grand finale of TJR17;S DJR17;S Tastemakers Only Music Conference (www.tjsdjs.com), a weekend long celebration of the top artists, executives, DJs and tastemakers in the music business and southern hip hop. Heavyweights such as Nelly, Lil Wayne, T.I., and Young Jeezy will all celebrate during the weekend with private events. Conference registrants and DJs will have access to these private functions, which will be filmed for MTV Jams and BET Rap City.

The event begins on Friday August 8th with the UGK Pool tournament, Nelly’s Bowling Challenge, and the Rap-A-Lot/Cash Money Kickoff party. Producer, artist, and DJ panels featuring the biggest names in the music industry take place on Saturday and Sunday. T.I. and Grand Hustle host the OZONE Awards pre-party on Sunday night, and Young Jeezy hosts the Island Def Jam BBQ in the Park on Monday leading into the OZONE Awards red carpet. BET Awards 2008: The Epitome Of Tacky Fashions!! WTF Were They Thinking?

The 2008 BET Awards, Hosted by Funny Man, D.L Hughley was held at the Shrine Auditorium in LA. Usually the red carpet is place to see fabulous fashions but this year, it was more like"what Not to Wear"

The DO'S

Kirk and Tami franklin (can't talk about God's child), J Hud looks nice (I see she's slimmed down a bit), Lisa raye and Terrence Howard(One of the few who actually look normal at this event), Gabrielle Union ( although I'm not loving the look, it's doable) and Jordan Sparks(love the color, Love the look) Managed to look decent for the Awards show

The DON'TS

Keyshia cole, Look like she's wearing a shorter version of Missy's trashbag get up. WTF was she thinking?, Lil Mama (who does she think she is fooling? No matter what ridiculousness she rocks. there is now ay in hell that she will ever convince anyone that she is only 18, That chick is pushing 25 at least, Lil' Kim,( her outfit is rather cute _) but she makes the list for rocking her tyra Banks wig in blonde. I know I saw that wig at the beauty supply... "The "Tina" Wig for $29.99, Maybe Alicia doesn't belong here either but that ill-fitting prom dress is not a "DO".

Neutral

Rihanna looks fabulous and I love that color on her. If this were a movie premiere for the movie "grease" she'd definitely be a "Do" but this is not the 1950's prom Step into the 2000'a chile. Solange solange, Solange, ow we know she has to get out and advertise her mama's creations and this dress is not THAT bad. I could possily work with the style but the color, and matching handbag to boot. Uh Uhhh!!

The Hootchies:

Trina, Cassie and the hootchie crew know better than to show up looking like they are auditioning for a Drop it like its hot vidjo. Granted, The BET awards isn't the most classy affair but it 's no Source Awards either. Trina, looks cute but she needs to take it down a notch. the thighs are a little too thick to be showing that much. I know if she bent over just a teeny bit her azz would be exposed. Same goes for Cassie except she looks like a little girl playing dress up. Ya'll knwo the little girls who sneak over a friend's house and then change clothes to go to a party that they aren't supposed to be at. Ya'll Know! ...Lauren London, and Malikka Haqq look nice actually, they are ust guilty by association.

ASCAP's 21st Annual Rhythm & Soul Music Awards

Over 600 songwriters, recording artists and music industry leaders gathered at the 21st Annual ASCAP Rhythm and Soul Music Awards, held June 23 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles. Award-winning songwriter Johntá Austin hosted the all-star gathering, which included special guest presenters MC Lyte, Ne-Yo and T-Boz, plus live performances by some of today's hottest stars including Raheem DeVaughn, The Dream, Flo-Rida , J. Holiday , and Shawty Lo. The highlight of the evening was the presentation of the prestigious ASCAP Golden Note Award to the six members of New Edition. Celebrating their 25th anniversary as recording artists, Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins, Bobby Brown, Ronnie DeVoe, Johnny Gill and Ralph Tresvant were honored in recognition of their innovative and enduring contributions to 'Rhythm & Soul' music, which have earned them an extraordinary place in American popular music. Following a video tribute highlighting the career of the platinum hit makers, writer/producer Maurice Starr and ASCAP CEO John LoFrumento presented awards to each member of the group.
They all look nice suited up. I know Bobby is happy as hell to be back on that stage receiving his awards.

"D" Listers came out to attend the 6th Annual TV Land Awards

The best of the "D" Listers came out to attend the 6th Annual TV Land Awards held at The Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, CA. Vanessa Williams hosted this years show which honors achievements in classic television. Kim Whitley, Gary coleman, Roseanne Barr and other were in attendance but what I really want to know is why is Lisa Raye there? Doesn't she have more pressing issues as the first Lady of Turks and Caicos?

MTV Australia Awards 2008 4/26

Stars showed up in droves to attend this year's MTV Australia Awards. The event was held at Sydney's Australian Technology Park in Redfern on April 26, 2008. Eve , who also performed live, showed up sporting a new "do" (not sure if I'm feeling it or not just yet).as well as 50 cent, Leona lewis and Kim Kardashian just to name a few.
