Solange is a Trooper, Breaks Foot and Keeps On Performing

Singer Solange Knowles kept her concert date in Kansas City, Mo., even after she broke her foot on her way to the stage, Interscope Records said Wednesday.

Knowles is on tour to support the Aug. 26 release of her new album, "SoL-AngeL and The Hadley St. Dreams."

A large piece of metal fell from the doorway and onto her foot as she went to take the stage in Kansas City Sunday, her record label said.

Knowles went on and performed her full set, then after her performance was rushed to the hospital where she learned her foot had been broken in the mishap.

The singer is to continue the tour while in a cast. Under doctor's instructions, she will perform while sitting on a stool, Interscope said.

Knowles is scheduled to perform Thursday at the House of Blues in Cleveland.
