Oakland Raiders, Wide Receiver Javon Walker Found Unconscious after Robbery Attempt
Wide receiver Javon Walker, an offseason addition of the Oakland Raiders, was hospitalized after an apparent attempted robbery in Las Vegas.
Police spokesman Bill Cassell says in a statement that Walker was taken to a hospital with "significant injuries" after being found unconsciousearly Monday on a street off the Las Vegas Strip.
Cassell says Walker, 29, sustained an orbital fracture and remains in fair condition at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center.
A Raiders spokesman said the team was "in the process of gathering information" and had no further comment.
He was seen Saturday night partying at the Wynn casino, spraying the crowd with bottles of Dom Perignon.
Walker signed a six-year, $55 million deal with the Raiders after a down year last year with Denver, where he had 26 receptions for 287 yards.
That's a dayum shame. We wish him a speedy recovery!
