The Game Drops "911 Is A Joke" In Response To Sean Bell Verdict
Compton rapper The Game is outraged by last week's controversial verdict in the Sean Bell police shooting. He will release a new song titled "911 Is A Joke" where he is addressing the controversial Sean Bell verdict.
"I'm outraged and speaking out for my generation that is afraid to speak out against police brutality and murder," said The Game in a statement. "I grew up in Compton and had to stay silent because of the fear that was prevalent in my community, but now that I have a voice I'm speaking out."
The track will debut today (April 29) on his website www.ThisIzGame.com. "911 Is A Joke" features Black Wall Street artist, Clyde Carson and addresses police tactics and violence.
"This could have easily been me, my brother, my family. So this song is for Sean Bell," The Game said. "My deepest condolences go out to his family."
Sean Bell was shot and killed in 2006 after leaving a strip club in Queens, NY where he was celebrating his bachelor party. The undercover officers who fired the shots were found not guilty of Bell’s murder.
The Game´s album "L.A.X." will be in stores July 8.
