Harlem Globetrotter Chris "Flash" Richardson Dead AT 28

Chris Richardson, a member of the Harlem Globetrotters, has died in his sleep while on tour in Japan.

Although the cause of death is not yet confirmed, Richardson likely died of natural causes, according to a Globetrotters spokesman.

The players were on their 83rd consecutive season and stopped at a US military base in Sasebo, Japan.

The spokesman said the organization was still in shock over Richardson's death.

The 2.01m Richardson played at University of Nevada Las Vegas and joined the Globetrotters shortly after his college career ended.

Richardson was known for his dunking skills.

"He was a great Globetrotter on and off the court. He just had a very engaging smile that would light up the room," the spokesman said.
