''You know, I hate gay people, so I let it be known. I don't like gay people, and I don't like to be around gay people,'' he said while a guest on Sports Talk 790 The Ticket. ''I'm homophobic. I don't like it. It shouldn't be in the world or in the United States.''
The discussion was sparked by last week's announcement that retired NBA center John Amaechi is gay. The host asked Hardaway how he would interact with a gay teammate.
''First of all, I wouldn't want him on my team. And second of all, if he was on my team, I would, you know, really distance myself from him because, uh, I don't think that is right. I don't think he should be in the locker room while we are in the locker room.''
He later apologized for the remarks during a telephone interview with WSVN in Miami.
Umm ...a little bit too late Doncha think Tim? Haven't you learned anything from Gibson, Richards and all the others who made "anti" remarks against a group of individuals. Even if you're thinking it and that is how you feel, the best thing to do is keep it to yourself!

Bret Michaels, The NEW Flavor Of Love?
Bret Michaels, the front man of ’80s pop-metal band Poison and the man in the Pamela Anderson sex tape scandal, will be looking for love in a new VH1 series from the producers of the network’s hit "Flavor of Love."
The cable network is set to debut a 10-episode reality show titled "Rock of Love With Bret Michaels" in July.
The show will feature Michaels looking for a woman who can keep up with his rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle and not become jealous of his one true passion — performing — which is said to be the reason for and destruction of most of his relationships.
The women, who will live with Michaels in his "Los Angeles rock palace," will be put through various challenges in a test of their devotion to him as well as their understanding of everything rock ‘n’ roll. Those who win these challenges will join Michaels on "wild and exclusive excursions," while "those who can’t hang like true backstage VIPs will be escorted out in bona fide rock star fashion," VH1 said.
Some how I just don't see this being a big Hit. They need someone just as wild and crazy as Flav. We'll just have to wait and see because NY and her mama. with their crazy ass, will be a hard act to follow
Angela Bassett and her husband, actor COURTNEY B. VANCE, made the most of their wedding night in 1997 after abstaining from sex for a full year before the nuptials.
The long-time friends chose to be celibate for 12 months after Vance proposed and had just one night to consummate their marriage before Bassett flew off to shoot movie HOW STELLA GOT HER GROOVE BACK.
The couple, who have revealed all about their romance and marriage in new book FRIENDS: A LOVE STORY, admit they'll always be fond of Santa Monica, California hotel Shutters On The Beach, where they spent their one-night honeymoon. And, although Bassett is glad she waited to consummate their union, it was tough.
Vance recalls, "Because we knew this relationship was so special we decided to abstain from sex until after we were married." But Bassett reveals, "That was my brilliant idea, but it wasn't easy. Actually, one night, I did beg Courtney to give in."
That's right, wait until after you get married to give up the goodies!
